chapter for hot flashes (small group)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to tame your hot flashes & night sweats
Service Description
chapter for hot flashes is an interactive program designed by experts to help you take control of your most troublesome menopause symptoms and, along the way, improve your relationship to aging. Together with nine other women - your chapter crew - you will learn how your thoughts and beliefs have a profound impact on your emotions, your actions and how you experience hot flashes and other menopause symptoms in your body (e.g. sleeplessness and low mood). You will learn and apply evidence-based strategies on how to spot your unhelpful thoughts, replace them with helpful one and kick off a positive chain reaction of emotions and actions that calm your parasympathetic nervous system and lessen your physical symptoms. A virtuous circle. Each week, your chapter crew will come together on Zoom for chapter live, a facilitated group discussion designed to deepen engagement, foster sisterhood and reinforce learning. chapter live facilitators are trained by Dr. Myra Hunter, the world's leading expert on using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat hot flashes and night sweats, which forms the basis of the program. Dr. Hunter has developed interventions to treat hot flashes and night sweats for well women and women with breast cancer, which have been studied through four randomized clinical trials, with results published in peer-reviewed journals including Menopause: The Journal of The Menopause Society, Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the British Journal of Health Psychology.
